Teaching, Singing and Reaching for the Stars
My first year journey as a trainee teacher
I thought I'd mix it up a bit and utilise some of the skills I'm developing within my Technology for Enhancing Learning (TEL) sessions, hence the video.
This year I have gone from feeling very much the hired (or not) help to a realisation that I am a fledgeling teacher - but still a teacher. I have realised that I am not actually made to be a maths specialist - and have changed to a science specialism.

At the start of the year, lecturers told us that the year would be a rollercoaster, and boy were they right!
At one point I was not the little man on the boat, I was a little girl with a snorkel at the bottom of the lake. If my first professional practice had been unsuccessful I may not have finished this year. Thankfully I had a supportive mentor and the rewards from teaching were fully realised. I am still here and passionate about becoming an inspiring, creative teacher
I have no doubt that the next 2 years will have similar peaks and troughs. My twitter bio claims that I'm a 'time juggler' and this is a skill that I'm working hard on - I do drop the ball occassionally but the trick is to know which ball is the important one!
